Reach out to each other!
When Pope Francis talks about Synodality,
he means journeying together as the People of God.
It indicates a way of listening to each individual person
as a member of the Church
to understand how God might be speaking to all of us.
The Pope continues, saying “The purpose of the Synod is to plant dreams, draw forth prophecies and visions. It is to allow hope to be nourished, inspire trust, bind up wounds, weave together relationships, awaken a dawn of hope, learn from one another, and create a bright resourcefulness that will enlighten minds, warm hearts, give strength to our hands.”
A basic question prompts and guides us: How does this “journeying together,” apply today at the local level, as well as at the universal one?
For us, as the Parish Renewal Team, the above question has in fact prompted and guided all our work since we began. It is the fundamental reason for establishing parish Hubs, and constantly looking for initiatives on which parishes can collaborate.
To this end we have recently set up a Forum on our website, so that all the parishes of our Archdiocese, in the city and country areas, can communicate with each other. It is an opportunity to share good initiatives, or to seek advice, in fact, to open up discussion on any area of parish life. It is together that we can discern what God is asking of us and experience the encouraging, guiding Hand of Jesus.
The Forum can be accessed on the front page of our website.
